Why does the energy yield in the app of my Huawei system drop in the evening?
Why does the Huawei app show an
energy yield of 0 kWh for a long time in the morning even though production is already underway?
Why does PVvis show negative values for the energy yield?

We receive questions about the energy yield of Huawei systems every day. Many system owners believe that the energy yield is the energy generated from the roof. However, this is only correct as long as no battery is connected.

With a battery, the energy yield is calculated from the energy supplied by the inverter + the energy stored in the battery – the energy taken from the battery.

In the evening, after sunset, no energy is stored. Losses occur during the conversion of direct current from the battery into alternating current for the domestic grid. The value therefore decreases.

After midnight, the losses also reduce the energy yield. The energy yield would therefore be negative before sunrise. However, no value less than 0 is displayed in the Huawei app. The value only increases once the losses from the night have been offset by the yield from the roof.

PVvis also displays negative values for energy yield.
